I have been biking for 39 years and have had many different makes and models but had never thought of a Harley until my test recent ride. I was the ultimate sceptic but on returning to West Coast I was hooked.
Fiona, Damien and Chris were very helpful and I was impressed with the way they didn't pressure you into a purchase or no purchase decision. The West Coast Shop is in my opinion one of the best stocked and presented bike shops I have seen and the standard of their used Harley's is outstanding.
The only down side is my wife (also a biker) has her eyes on the new 883 super low.

Fiona went out of her way to get me the best price for my trade-in and I have ended up with a bike I am really pleased with. As soon as I saw 'my' XR1200X parked outside with it's black Remus pipe I knew I had made the right choice and my journey home and some trips on my favourite twisty roads have confirmed that even more. I really like this bike! I also like the 'traditional' nature of your showroom and the nice folder for documents and helpful information, and my wife liked the chocolates!!All in all I am very impressed with West Coast Harley Davidson and would hope to do more business with you in the future.Best wishes,Geoff Heslop--------------------28th July 2010.Sitting here in the office working late waiting on Scottish Power reinstating power to site and thought I would check out WCHD website - again !!!. After reading many, many great testimonials about new bike sales I thought it would be nice to add something about the after sales service you get from WCHD. I bought my Road King Classic Anniversary model in 2003 and still have same bike. The service I get to this day is as good, if not better than the day I bought the bike no matter what I'm in the shop for, whether its parts, add-ons, servicing or the usual visits with my wife to the clothing department. Even when I occasionally enquire about a possible new bike I am never pressurised into buying which is evident in the fact I still have the same bike after 7 yrs. Everyone in this dealership has an excellent attitude to customer service. You just cannot fault it anywhere. Recently had to have some repairs done to the bike when it wouldn't start after the long winter storage. Bike was picked up exactly when they said it would be at 09:30hrs on a Sat morning by one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Parts were ordered, bike repaired, serviced and MOT'd and because of the higher than normal cost they wouldn't charge for the pick-up, as well as giving me greatly discounted parts and labour. They actually sounded sorry they had to charge me at all. !!! Seriously !!! I was kept fully informed of what was happening throughout and everything was ready for pick up following Sat. which is the only day I can manage to get to dealer. They even offered to deliver the bike to me. You just don't get that kind of service anywhere else. With regards the clothing dept I always get an honest opinion when buying something. They even know what size my wife is. I DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT. ??? At Xmas I think all the female staff came over and offered their advice on a gift for my wife and got the size spot on. Brilliant !! They always tell me if its not suited to what I want and will offer an alternative and not necessarily more expensive. The parts Dept are always very helpful and will search for anything you care to ask about through numerous catalogues and make sure you get exactly what you want. Even if it's not Harley they will get it for you and advise on best options for your bike stating the plus and negatives of what you buy. Then there are the open days - great fun and the staff all get really involved in whatever the event is, Xmas, Easter, general open fun days - you name it they are all into it. Hopefully that helps anyone who is thinking of or has just bought from WCHD that you will get the same level of service from them many yrs after your purchase. 27th July 2010.21st July 2010.Hi Don Once again your team surpassed expectations. Having experienced the sales team it was now the turn of the after sales team. I had an issue with the bike and spoke to holly who calmly gave suggestions and arranged a repair, all within a day. When I arrived with the bike(in the break down truck) Holly took charge , the sales team issued the coffee and Robin undertook the repair and, had time to discuss the bike with me.I have been asked why I travel 70 mile to shop with West Coast and the answer is the same -THIS IS THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EXPERIENCE FROM ANY MOTORCYCLE ORGANISATION. --------------------6th July 2010.Just an email to let you know how well we were treated at West Coast Harley by Fiona. From the first initial contact by phone from Northern Ireland to discuss the Harley we had seen on line, we feel we have been treated as valued potential customers. That phone chat went so well the deal was done there and then. We managed to come over to see the bike a few days later.. and were treated like old friends, especially loved the lovely tea. The harley was delivered to us a few days later by ferry and my wife really enjoyed the lovely chocolates kindly put in the saddlebags. I must also mention. Damien who we met when we were over, and who has made a couple of follow up calls to us to make sure everything is going well.All in all we are very impressed with all at West Coast Harley and Fiona made us feel so welcome and did not mind when I tried to get a better deal. I dealt with Fiona Rutherford on the recommendation of my friend David Cooper (a past customer of yours), and she was totally fantastic from start to finish. I bought the bike without actually seeing it personally - I found it on the internet and took a chance that it was what I wanted. Fiona described it in great detail, was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the modifications and extras, arranged the finance for me, and she even ran upstairs with the phone and started it up for me so I could hear how it sounded!! I wasn't the easiest of buyers - personal circumstances meant that I couldn't take delivery immediately, and Fiona agreed to keep hold of it for me until I could make arrangements. After a series of discussions with Robin re the Buell I eventually managed to get it into your workshop for upgrade modification and fuel deposit problems after two failed attempts which were solely of my making. Gardening !!!!!!! I managed to put my back out so was out of action for a wee while! Holly in Service Reception could not have been more understanding and helpful throughout my self inflicted inaction. Your Service Team despite having computer problems managed the upgrade very speedily and tried the Harley tech advised part replacement in an attempt to correct the fuel dump through the vent pipe which since the warmer ambient weather surprisingly has been less?? with vapour exiting from the vent but possibly due to the higher ambient not condensing in a puddle on the floor and also I subsequently discovered to my conversations with Robin that if I parked the bike in the garage on its sidestand rather than vertically on a paddock stand it did not drip so much fuel! Any way, hopefully our problems (entirely through the efforts of your staff and your own good offices, which are very sincerely appreciated,) are concluded regarding the Buell, as I may have fallen in love once again!!!!! Holly kindly organised a loan bike to keep me entertained and mobile while the Buell was being attended to. This was my first experience of a real Harley in 52 years of motorcycles and innumerable bikes. I was apprehensive at first, particularly it town traffic, and to say hated this strange new experience, would perhaps be too strong, but one gets the picture, BUT as possibly frequently happens with those that have never ridden a Harley, getting out of town and "cruising the M8" even at relatively slow speeds, things began to improve and take on new meaning and strangely I was ENJOYING(?) this new experience! When I got back to your dealership I had some time to spend whilst the Buell was completed and spent some time "looking (with a different attitude) at Harleys in your showroom where Damien and Eric were considerate, helpful, and above all listening and commutative and insisted I should try my preferred Harley before then making a better informed decision. Within minutes of riding your demo XR1200 it just felt and handled so much more to my liking than I ever experienced (unfortunately) on the Buell. With your and Eric's much sincerely appreciated help I was back at West Coast Harley the next day to collect "My Harley" I even came home the long way round via Loch Lomand and the Rest, etc. rather than ferry just so I could enjoy this newfound experience longer. Although eh sportster was a little short for him we had a brilliant time riding the west coast from Glasgow to Fort William, Oban, Inverrary and back to Glasgow. The weather was kind to us and the roads and scenery were breathe taking. My Dad dropped some additional gear off tonight and was very positive about the welcome and kindness he received from yourself and the staff (including dropping my Mum off in town). I am trying to encourage him to part exchange his bandit for a Harley. When I come to trade my Dyna Low 100th anniversary in for a Road king I will be in touch because good customer service is hard to find and once found it deserves loyalty. When we arrived to purchase the bikes we found the staff very welcoming, informative and helpful. -------------------- 12th April 2010 Hi Fiona I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the staff at WCHD for your help in the recent purchase of my new Softail Heritage its BRILLIANT. This is the second bike I have bought from WCHD each time the purchase becomes easer to part with my hard earned cash (Well almost!) I have to say the staff's welcoming approach and product knowledge is excellent, the endless cups of coffee is maybe not as excellent especially when you have a long drive home, thank goodness for lay-bys! Having the bike delivered right to the front door was appreciated, as the weather was really miserable on the day I was due to pick my bike up (this must be the understatement of the week) I believe your delivery driver's name is John (I was too busy smiling at the sight of my new bike in the back of his van when he introduced himself) he was one of the most helpful people I have met and very knowledgeable about Harleys. The upgraded pipes were a must and they just increase the great sound of the Harley's big twin. I must commend your workshop for a nice tidy job fitting the stage one. The sound of the pipes is that good one of my neighbours came across one morning at 7:30am in his pyjamas to comment on the sound, he was so impressed he called the Police so they could hear them as well! Well my bobber was delivered at 1.30am with 2" of snow on the ground! Delivery driver was going to leave it unilt the Sunday morning but I would have stayed up all night to ensure my new toy was safely tucked up in my Garage.
Unfortunately I had to wait for a month and a half for the snow to go and get her out for a run but pleased to say we had a great weekend of weather in sunny Banchory and most of all the village will be aware when I fired her up. I suspect if I hadn't been wearing my new fiendish bandero 'Spike' grinning face mask there wouldn't have been much difference to my appearance as I was grinning from ear to ear cruising along the road on such an awsome machine..........

My last Heritage Softail Classic was written off in Norway on 090/8/2009 after a coming together with a Polish tourist who took it upon himself to turn across my path without looking in my direction but I,m still alive to ride again. I live in the Orkney Islands and West Coast Harley has been my dealership of choice since I bought my first Harley in 2002. I walked into W. C.H. for the first time just to look around and everyone was very friendly and the place had a nice feel about it with its wooden floorboards, it's maybe a bit small but that adds to its charm. I have been in quite a few dealerships in the USA and Europe and they are all the same. -------------------- 2nd December 2009.Hi Fiona,Hope you got back from Oxford OK! I had the ride of a life-time (at least I hope in only happens once in my life-time). At one stage I think it was raining upwards! I had to stop ever two or three miles between Ayr and Stranraer to clean my visor and glasses - and playing tag with juggernauts in a force 5 gale...not fun! Just as well I didn't hang about too long as my ferry was cancelled (though I meant to pick up a T-shirt with your logo on the back), but they put on a conventional sailing that took 3 hrs on a hugh sea that had most folks rolling on the floor being sick! I sat in my kit on the outer deck and just enjoyed the ride - got back home here about 0130 - aching, soaking and grinning like an idiot! Still grinning today - put another couple of hundres miles on the clock after breakfast. Bike is more than I had hoped it would be and I love it - intuitive to ride, attracts attention and sound amazing. It was only when cleaning it this evening that I really noticed the detailing on the bike, if you know the guy who had it before me please pass on my compliments! I'm going to have an early night now - will be in touch. I decided to buy myself a toy, so i started looking on the internet for a motorcycle.I logged onto West Coast's web site. I noticed a Road King Classic with a 8 ball paint job. I really liked it but it was an 08 model. I work with about a 95% American work force, so at i work started talking about it with some of my friends, and they told me that the 09 was a completely different model,and that was the one to get. I e mailed Eric at first and for a few e mails we were talking about what i wanted . Basically a 09 just like the one i had seen in the advert.after some time i placed an order for a new bike to my spec,a new Road King with 8 ball paint and a few extras. I emailed an order to Eric and my sister went in to pay a deposit. I started dealing with Fiona who was very helpful soon after . This lady was very good to deal with even when i changed my mind on the final spec's, and decided to provide some of my own parts ! At this time Fraser also ended up providing info and prices for parts, to be fitted. Fiona and Fraser were most helpful during this and no doubt were fed up with me.as i changed my mind a few times trying to get it right. It was delivered in September, and i have really really amazing looking bike !!! it ended up being quite a project.Although Fraser doesn't know it but it isn't finished yet.Fiona was AWESOME to deal with, the lady makes it happen. So many thanks to Fraser and Fiona. Although when i come home again in Febuary Fiona already knows that we will start again on my next toy. I havn't told her what it will be yet,as i still have to make my mind up which one to buy next a Fat Boy,Electra Glide standard or another Road King. or who knows ? I am able to say that i will deal with Fiona and Fraser again with confidence, and as i work 4000 miles from Glasgow, and don't see the finished item till i come home.I have no problem saying that both Fraser and especially Fiona were good to deal with, and i am looking forward to the next one. I was looking for a bike that was a bit different and had that wow factor, but was still affordable. I live in Bournemouth and had been to my local dealers and could'nt really find what I was looking for so I went online to see what I could find. Thats when I went onto look at the West Coast Harley Davidson. I had visited the store earlier on in the year and I really liked the shop and the type of bikes that they were selling. I did however find a fantastic bike, that I really liked and was what I had been looking for but thought - oh hell, Glasgow! I did call them to see if they might know of a dealer closer to me that would sell this particular bike. The lady I spoke to, Fiona, told me everything about the bike that I needed to know and that it was a limited edition only 49 of 200 with radical paintwork which heightend my interest even more, but that meant there weren't any over my way, but in explaining that I lived in Bournemouth, she was not phased by this and said that they could deliver for a really small cost and that I could have it in only a few of days! Wow! I was confident that I would defiantely love the bike as Fiona had explained everything so well and proceeded with the order. I had the bike delivered 5 days later and was not disapointed! I can honestly say West Coast Harley Davidson's service was fantastic. They threw in a few freebies and even managed to get me a better deal on my insurance with the top insurer Harley Davidson. 17th November 2009.Having ridden sports bikes for a number of years, a Harley was something totally different from the norm and in all honesty didn't know what to expect. From the first moment I spoke with Fiona on the phone she was very helpful, attentive and pointed me in the right direction with my purchase. I can honestly say I have never had sales service of this level from any previous dealer, and even got a follow up call!!! She was young and hada real sparkle to her. Listening to her voice I just melted on the spot. "This is the one for me!" I thought. I was initially concerned about how my other girl might respond if I brought her home! being German she can be a bit demanding of my time. Yes, it was a 6 month old, pristine, Black gloss, Fat Boy oozing chrome! A real beauty. Eventually I succumbed to the lure of the chrome and the rumble of Stage 1 exhausts. Fiona was also a great help! She made sure it was the one for me and the guys in the workshop ensured that the bike was absolutely 'perfect' when it left the showroom. I can't fault the team at West Coast Harley for their professionalism and attention to detail to friendly banter and follow up. You really did feel like a valued customer and the passion for their bikes was extraordinary. You will be pleased to know that my BMW and Fat Boy are living happily together and I make sure that I spend as much time with one as the other!! I only visited your Harley emporium as I had seen a bike I wanted on ebay and wanted to try one out for size as I am short in the leg before I bought it. I contacted Andy Downes and arranged to visit the shop. I found Andy to be the most pleasant sales person I have ever met. We discussed what I was looking for and even showed Andy the bike on ebay just to give him an idea of the bike I wanted. I was then showed 4 bikes that fitted my needs and after sitting on them I narrowed it down to 2. A px deal was discussed and Andy did his utmost to get me a good deal on my Suzuki. As I have worked in the bike trade before I know how things are done and I pushed Andy hard for a better deal. Eventually we agreed a deal. Andy then introduced me to all the staff and informed me of their role in the company. I found the staff polite, friendly, accomodating and most important for a bike shop not pushy at all. Nothing was too much trouble and the coffees just kept coming. Well what else can I say, I bought a bike from West Coast Harley and well pleased with it I am too. Just wish the weather was good enough to get out and enjoy it. Has rained every day since my purchase. Question; Would I go back again Answer; I most certainly would and already plan to do so next year for an upgrade. Thanks and Regards Ron --------------------28th August 2009.I've bought a few bikes over the last few years and this is the only dealership where I was positively encouraged to take a test ride before buying. It's a nice change to be treated like an adult and shows that you trust both your customer and your product. All the staff were friendly, which sounds a bit like a cliche, but it was evidenced by the commitment in getting the best price for my trade in bike.Other dealers gave me 'book price' or even less. Fiona actually took a couple of hours phoning round other dealers to get the best possible price, which was much appreciated. Meanwhile I was made to feel most welcome as I loitered around the showroom hoovering up the complimentary coffee and perusing the bikes.When the deal was done, I was congratulated by another staff member and given a handshake - another nice touch.They say that you don't really know someone until the chips are down and things go awry and West Coast Harley really showed their true colours on the day I came to pick up my new bike. First of all I was only able to come to the shop late in the day, so I called ahead and was told "no problem". By the time all the papers were signed etc. it was past closing time, but no one seemed to mind. Then when it was time to leave the bike couldn't be started. I expected to be told that they would fix the problem tomorrow, as everyone was getting ready to leave for the day but no. The bike was taken into the workshop, the fault diagnosed (a dead cell in the battery) a new battery fitted, while I was given more coffee and a free t-shirt for my wife.So all in all - a big thanks to WCHD for making the whole exerience for buying the bike as satisfying as riding it.Michael Doherty--------------------19th August 2009Fran, Many thanks for all your help. 4th August 2009.Well Guy's what can I say,Here I am closer to 60 than I care to think about, but as a Peter Pan still think I'm 29 was 28 for years till I was reminded [hey you you've been 28 for years.]So taking stock one day I started going through my wish list or what's still to do before I die list.AHEM top of the list OWN A HARLEY.has to be done I thought so went on to the Web and had a look well there it was a ROADSTER IRON in Denim Black.ah love at first sight. So a couple of visits to the West Coast site VERY WELL LAID OUT SITE I must add I made my 1st contact with the lovely Fiona.Who very promptly got straight back to me. That Friday my wife and I were going North for the weekend and I missed my turn off to the Motorway HE-HE fiendishly clever of me oh lets pop into West Coast . Unknown to me it closed at 5pm on Fridays, but Eric bless him no problem come in and spent a good 20 minutes with us what a guy what enthusiasim and on a Friday night,impressed.Went back later and met with Fiona, so easy to talk to so plesant, so enthusiastic, so knowledgable on all things Harley.Sold; but wanted to introduce my Wife to biking.Better add at this stage I passed my test at 20 then had a Triumph for a year or so 1990ish never been on a Harley.Back to my lovely wife got her tackled up in my leathers and helmet MMMMM, and the Great guy Eric took her out for a spin,alas it was not for her she liked it but not for her, but as I say Never Say Never.Any way deal done, needed a new pair of Harley Boots, [you have to dont you] and a new Open Face helmet well you got to look the part to LIVE THE DREAM. In steps Nuala [could sell sand to the Arabs that one] what an asset to the company, once more helpfull, enthusiastic ,and knowledgable.Was introduced to all the diffrent departments, and the same enthusiasim was every where ,hey boss you are a lucky guy I can tell you,staff make a buisness and your's are the TOPS.Saturdy came and there I was like the wee boy I am [In my mind]and Fiona was there any one who thinks Ha she's just a girl she whipped that bike out of the shop up the ramp onto the road like it was a Dinky toy.[Impressed]After all my instructions,it was time, not only the 1st time I have driven a Harley, the 1st time I have even sat on one,Crazy I know but somethings in life you just know are going to be right,and it was right ,of I went would be a liar to say I was not kacking in my pants I was, BUT LOVED IT.I wont be doing loads and loads of miles but every mile I do do will be with a big grin on my face, thank you Harley Davidson, thank you West Coast, and above all thank you my gorgeous wife for letting a wee boy LIVE HIS DREAM.Derek Stuart--------------------
4th August, 2009.I Would just like to say a big thank you to your dealership for your prompt attention after my recent breakdown on route to your dealership on friday, within a hour of breaking down and contacting yourselves i was in the dealership along with my bike. plus a big thankyou to your driver as even before i contacted you your driver pulled up to see if i needed assistance !! i couldnt believe my eyes when within 5mins of breaking down a dealership van was pulling in to see what was up ...he then returned to recover me as mentioned...excellent service i say !!Your guys in the service department then even though fully booked found time to look at the problem and found the fault within a short time !! thanks to ROBIN and his team he explained that parts would be ordered asap and hope to have me sorted by this weekend, i really appreciate your prompt attention in dealing with this as im aware your fully booked up due to the time of year. I recently bought a new Buell XB12SCG and the whole process could not have been simpler from trading my bike in, to having the tweaks and accessories added, to picking up the Bike. The whole experience was a genuine pleasure from start to finish. Too often these days one can be made to feel like a widget on an assembly line but the personal attention to detail shown at West Coast Harley Davidson is a breath of fresh air. I would happily recommend you guys to any and every one. I am thoroughly enjoying the Buell despite the Scottish weather and look forward to dealing with you all again. I have been an admirer of Harley Davidson Motor Cycles for more years than I care to remember and always longed to own one. A year or two ago one of my friends bought an 883 sportster which he then traded for a XL1200 custom. This made me more green eyed than ever. However he recommended that I pay a visit to west coast while I was visiting Glasgow to renew my passport also warning me that it would be very difficult for me to leave the shop without first buying a bike.. When I arrived at the shop I could not peel myself away from the windows as the bikes displays etc were so well done that i kept on seeing something else of interest to me. When I finally went inside it was "kid in a sweet shop" time and I did not know where to look first as I was attracted to everything the displays bikes were amazing to look at. When I met Fiona she was very attentive to all my questions allowing me to try a few bikes and explaining the differences between each. I finally chose an XL1200low which fits me perfectly as I am vertically challenged in the leg department :-) . The weekend I was shopping was a bank holiday weekend and getting the bike registered was going to be delayed for a day or 2 as the shop would be closed on monday posing me with a problem to collect the bike as I was planning to return home to the northeast of Scotland on same day, Fiona immediately came up with an option to have the bike delivered to Perth for me free of charge as the salesman Andy would be going that way on Wednesday anyway.. I collected my bike and rode it to the northeast I love the bike and am thoroughly enjoying the Harley experience my next step will be for some harley clothing (leathers , boots etc) which I am thinking of purchasing when I return for 1st service. I contacted Fraser in the parts depatment with the intention of buying a battery tender , the one I had opted for was competely wrong with american voltages etc and I could not have been more properly informed and assisted with gaining the proper one.. All in all my experience with west coast harley has been a very positive one and I cant thank Fiona, Andy and Fraser enough for all the advise and help that they have given me..Thanks and best regards Kevin Buchan--------------------17th June, 2009.I recently became the proud owner of a new XL883L in Vivid Black. Fiona Rutherford was my guide through the maze of bike and options available to me. Couldn't have asked for a better service, everyone made me feel welcome even though I was new to the Harley family and only passed my test last August on a 125, they were able to restrict the bike without any fuss. Fiona is definitely an asset to your company. She is friendly, customer focused "can do" attitude and even if she does not know the answer is not afraid to ask. Service with a smile every time I come in and goodness knows how she managed to put up with me on the run up to me actually getting the bike as I was like a kid at Christmas. Will definitely be coming back to yourselves for my next bike. As for the bike itself, love it. Only had it since 5th June 2009 and I have already done about 450 miles on it. Within a couple of minutes, I was approached by one of the sales staff who immediately introduced herself as Fiona and asked my name. Fiona was very friendly and immediately put me at ease and I sensed from the outset that I would be well looked after here and knew that the dealership was being run in a professional and friendly manner.I explained to Fiona what I was looking for and she knew right away which bikes to show me. Fiona was very helpful and friendly during the sale and afterwards.All the staff that I met in the shop were helpful and cheery too, and I enjoyed the coffee that was offered frequently. This was in contrast to one or two other dealers I went to where no one said hello to me - a strange way to see bikes. I did appreciate that you delivered the bike to my house - thanks for that.The bike was very clearn and well prepared when it arrived, thanks for this and also for including a tank of petrol. The guy that delivered the bike was also very helpful. My wife liked the chocolates that came with the goody bag, she says thanks.The only downside was that there was no service history included with the bike documentation this will be important for any warranty issues, (hopefully there won't be any) or if I sell or trade-in.I e-mailed Fiona about this and she very quickly arranged for a complimentary service to be done. This is excellent customers service and I'm grateful for the prompt response.In conclusion, I'm a happy customer and very satisfied with my experience with West Coast Harley Davidson. Stuart the mechanic was great. At 9.00 a que had formed at the service desk. He came through, helped at the desk and had my bike on the ramps by 5 past. After the service he spent 5 minutes running through what he had done and also showed me previous work that had been done by him for the previous owner which was good to know. A good guy to have in your team.
